Waterous discharge valves trunnion design allows the ball of the valve to remain centered in the valve body via a hydraulically balanced floating seal assembly with urethane seal. Seal compresses to the surface of the ball via a wave spring to keep uniform pressure ensuring a positive seal, self-adjusting for wear, prevents leakage under high pressure and assures easy operation. No need to add or remove shims or make adjustments to correct wear. The heart of the valve is a chromium-plated, solid bronze ball which is resilient to scoring, providing many years of dependable service. Single sealing surface allows the valve to be rotated to double the life of the valve. A single drain valve to drain both the valve body and discharge plumbing eliminates the expense of a separate valve drain and the nuisance of operating an extra control.
